Nowadays, TV PK Shows (or we can call it Talent Shows) are great hit in China and have attracted many young people. As for me, TV PK Shows, as all other things, have both positive and negative effects. Therefore, the most crucial thing is how we see them.
Some people think Talent Shows provide grass-root people with a stage to display their talents, so they should seize every opportunity to show off their talents. Some College students even give up their studies to attend these TV PK Shows in the hope of becoming famous overnight. They even regard TV PK shows as a shortcut to the success. While other people reckon that TV PK Shows will develop the undergraduates’ attitude of anxious of achieving quick success. And once they were failed in these shows, they would suffer a great psychological unbalance. This is really bad to their physical and psychological health.
To sum up, everything has its limit. As long as the right attitude is employed, then it is OK.

The university opening ceremonythe deeply impressing feelings are as much a part of me now as they were a year ago.
As the day to register and become a freshman in FDU approached, excitementincreased.Beingauniversitystudent meant I was finally coming of age. Soon I would be on my own, making my own decisions and doing what I wanted without someone looking over my shoulder.
Despite months of anticipation, nothing could have prepared me for the impact of the actual day.Among thousands of new comers sitting on the broad lawn in front of the famous XiangHui Auditorium, listening to the speeches by the principal and student representatives, I felt myself consumed by a rush of both joy and nervousness. What would college be like? Would the other students like me? And what about the workwould I be able to keep up? Being a student in high school seemed to offer little assurance of my being able to survive college, especially in FDU which is abundant of excellent counterparts. Panic set in.It had been nice being respected as a senior by the underclass students for the past year;I didn't quite enjoy the idea of being on the bottom rung of the ladder again.I was not assured whether I wanted to grow up after all.
As if in a daze, I rose up with my new classmates around to show respect to the school song which was to be performed. As the solemn music flowed, I knew that I was hearing not just a song but the foot step of a brand new life. Exciting as the prospeet of a new life seemed, it wasn't quite easy saying goodbye to the old onethe familiar faces, the familiar routine. I would eyen miss those days when fully engaged in preparing for the college entrance exams though they were so tiring and the long commute between home and school that took me several hours each week. Good or bad, it was that I knew.
This September, I was one of the volunteers to welcome the new comers and guide them around the campus. I found the familiar mixed feelings shown on their faces. I needn't have worried about if I would like FDU, since my year here has turned out to be one of the best years of my life. Although going back to those days is impossible, it's comforting to know I can revisit my special memories any time.

Advantages of a Job Interviews
Nowadays, when one applies for a job, he will be interviewed by an interviewer before he can be employed. The interview system is advantageous to both the interviewer and the interviewee. First, the interviewer can get the first impression of the interviewee, such as his appearance and personality. Second, he can let the interviewee know about the company or institution's working condition and his salary. Finally, he can know the interviewee's intention or ambition through the interview. The interview is also advantageous to the interviewee. To begin with, the interviewee can introduce to the interviewer his education background and working experience. Besides, if the interviewee is polite, decentlydressed or has a good appearance, in most cases he will make a good impression on the interviewer. Most important of all, the interviewee can demonstrate his ability by talking with the interviewer. From the above analysis,we can see that the interview is significant.
october 18th, , a sad day to most fans, for their idol luo wen left them forever. its really bad news to the hk music circles, as well as to me.
luo wen, in my mind, was always strict with himself in his singing career. his early song were all vigorous and inspiring, partly for the special social environment at that time. later, as the idol singers came up one after another, the old songs were not fit for the young fans, so he tried to change his style. and these years, he began to help some new singers to improve their skills. his songs were so influential that the hk minister of finance even used one to encourage all the citizens to work hard to gether and overcome the difficulty bravely.
unfortunately, about two years ago, the news that he got cancer flew into our ears. however, he still went on singing and teaching. he had been struggling with the disease until the last minute. as the newspapers reported, he didnt close his eyes when he died. someone said it was because he had a wish unfulfilled. he had hoped to give the last performance in hk in september, but his illness prevented him from doing that. it may be the biggest regret in his life. its also said that he only weighed 32 kilograms at the end of his life. you cant imagine how much he had suffered from the disease. but every time we saw him in public, he was wearing a smile.
the net day, many newspapers reported his death and simultaneously praised him for his contribution to the hk music circles and his spirit of struggling against the disease. he set a good
eample for those young people who dont value their lives.
in greek mythology there is a story of a bandit named procrustes who fitted each of his victims to an iron bed. if he was too short, he stretched him on a rack; and, if he was too long,he amputated his legs at the right point. he insisted that no one was an early proponent of standardization.
but he would be amazed to find in us, centuries later, a similar uniformity. just as procrustes insisted on conformity to his particular height, so modern society has insisted on conformity to a particular level the average. perhaps you have noticed in your life, as l have in mine, the readiness with which we chinese accept the common and the ordinary, and the skepticism with which we regard the different and the superior. the individuality we often ridicule; but the parrot we applaud.
today many kindergarten hobbyhorses are placed out of bounds, now that school consultants are convinced that they don't develop the "group spirit". today's teacher often stresses the necessity of "adjustment to the group", never questioning whether it is of any value. no wonder so many si-year-olds already have a phrase, "he thinks he's big," to indicate their intense dislike of anyone different from them.
in many parts of our nation, educators concentrate so heavily on providing equal opportunity for all students that they sometimes neglect to provide special opportunity for the above-aver age. we often grade eam papers on the basis of the average level of accomplishment. we even cross out from the tetbooks the words with which the average students are not familiar. in some places citizens go so far as to term special classes for etraordina student, then, is usually mocked rather than admired.
dangerous as this philosophy may sound, another aspect of it is far more serious. for modern society not only urges children to become a part of the crowd, but encourages adults adjustment as well.
job seekers may find, for eample, that some corporations make it a policy not to employ graduates of honors, for fear that they will not be "good miers".
advertisers persuade us to buy "the cigarette most people smoke", "the most popular car in its field". they find that we are often tempted by the items other people like, so they tend to take advantage of our desire to have that others have,to do what others do.
our ealtation of the average is evident also in modern politics. pohtical office seekers, all too often, have only to boast that they are "simple, ordinary, uneducated men", and we accept them.they have convinced us they are average. it is as though, in an age crying for eceptional leaders, we have made the prime requisite for leadership the inability to lead.
unfortunately, all these are true. they eist in our lives along with others. they typify the chinese demand for normality, for social acceptance, our glorification of the common man to the etent that he can be none other than common.
of course, we offer scholarships to outstanding students;we run contests; we engage in competitive sports. indeed, we chinese, living in a highly competitive nation, have much of the needed motivation with which to encourage ecellence. but we still ridicule intellectual superiority and often attach a social stigma to high accomplishments. we think it healthier for a child to be average.all these facts may counterbalance our present struggle for a better future.
our solution, then, must deal primarily with an inner attitude on our part. for this is obviously not a problem that can be solved by passing a law or by the action of a single organization.this is a problem deeply involving the emotions and ambitions of many people. if the source of the problem is deep within man,its solution must begin with him, too.
i do not ask for a nation of non-conformists. i realize that in a comple society men must learn to live with each other. for that reason, adjustment is essential but i do hope for a nation of thinkers who realize their own abilities and strive to fulfill them, who make their own decisions and think their own thoughts.
we will achieve our objective if we someday reach the stage where a man can stand on his own feet and claim that he is his own true master.
